Happy Families of word families: ask for laitier in the lait family
Each family of the game is a word family: lait, laitier, laitage, allaiter. The child asks for the card they are missing: “In the lait family, I would like laitier.” To know what to ask for, they read the list of the family at the foot of their card. A card shows the picture of the word when the lexicon has one. Otherwise the word is written large, its root in colour. The families come from the Lexikit list of word families, reviewed one by one. The word families exist in French, German and Spanish.

In 3 steps
- Add your families: type one word of each family at the top, in “Add a family”. “Lait” or “laitier” brings lait, laitier, laitage and allaiter.
- Choose three or four cards per family: a family joins the game when it has enough words.
- Print and cut out: nine 63 × 88 mm cards per page, with a decorated back if you like.

Frequently asked questions
How is it different from the Happy Families of categories?
Here, a family gathers words formed on the same root: lait, laitier, laitage. In the other game, a family gathers the words of a category, fruit or farm animals. Each has its own page.
Why is one of my families not in the game?
It does not have enough words for the number of cards chosen. Switch to three cards per family, or add other families: Lexikit suggests some, one click each.
