Splitting words into spoken syllables
Lexikit splits words into syllables as they are said, so the pupil counts the ones they hear.
In preschool, the pupil claps the syllables they hear. So the automatic split of words follows speech: “tomate” (tomato) is said in two syllables, even though it is written in three.
The split of a word shows in its window and can be corrected by hand. “Syllable puzzles” and “Words to rebuild”, which work on writing, share a double consonant between two syllables.
