Lexikit

From the general to the precise: food, fruit, apple

Each line holds three mixed-up words: fruit, apple, food. The child numbers them from the most general to the most precise. These are the generic and specific words of the French programme, the hypernyms of the older classes. Lexikit makes the chains from the categories of your words: an apple is a fruit, a fruit is food. It works in English, German and Spanish too.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some words give no line?

Three levels are needed: a category and its broader one, like fruit within food. A word only in a category without a parent is left out.
