Lexikit

Feature

Share a resource by link

A resource or a word list can be sent to colleagues or to parents by a link, with no account or sign-up.

The “Share” button creates a link that holds the whole resource: its words, its settings and its type. This link can be copied, sent from a tablet or scanned as a QR code. The person who opens it finds the resource in Lexikit, ready to print or change.

The resource is in the link

No server keeps your resource until someone opens it. Lexikit compresses it and writes it straight into the address, after the “#” sign. Browsers never send this part of the address to the server. So the resource goes from your device to the other person's, with nothing in between.

Why not a short link

A short link, like those of link-shortening services, would mean storing resources on a server. These resources contain children's first names and sometimes their photos, and I do not want to host this data. So the link is long, but it depends on no service.

Lexicon words travel by their number, your own words by their text. Your photos and recordings stay on your device. They go through exporting the resource as a file.
