A picture, a word, a voice
In Lexikit, a word always comes with a clear picture, as the Eduscol guide on preschool vocabulary recommends.
In Lexikit, a word always comes with its picture. Learnt this way, it can be retrieved by two paths: the word heard and the picture seen.
The Eduscol guide on teaching vocabulary in preschool (2020) puts it this way: “Retrieving information is made easier by a picture, a drawing or by recalling the situation experienced” (page 31, translated from French).
The picture must still show the right word. On the photo of an apple in a kitchen, the pupil may look at the table, while a clean pictogram shows only the object. The “Written word” option can remove the word under the picture.
