The lynx game
The lynx is an observation game. An A4 board gathers all the pictures scattered, each player draws a label, and the first to find the picture covers it.
The lynx now joins the games of Lexikit. It is a quick observation game. A single board gathers all the pictures of the list, scattered. Each player draws a label and looks for the picture on the board. The first to touch it covers it with their label.
A board in disorder
On an A4 sheet, Lexikit places square cells of the same size, turned every way, without overlapping. This disorder is deliberate: the eye has to search, and a tilted cell takes longer to recognise.
The board can show the pictures or the written words. With written words, the lynx becomes a reading game. The labels to draw are the size of the cells, to cover them exactly.
What it works on
The lynx makes players name words they already know, fast and out loud. It is used for reusing words, once they have been understood with a picture dictionary or bingo. It is played in a group, on paper or on screen.
