Exercise book rulings at their true size

Writing worksheets use real exercise book rulings, Seyès, double line or single line, printed to the millimetre.

Writing worksheets now have real exercise book rulings, drawn at their true size on the printed page. A 3 mm Seyès measures 3 mm on the sheet, whatever the size of the image.

Seyès, double line, single line

The menu has a single line of 1 cm, a double line of 1 cm or 5 mm, and Seyès, the ruled paper of French exercise books, in 3, 2.5 or 2 mm. The Eduscol guide for CP, the first year of primary school, describes a progression: a 3 mm interline in the last year of preschool, then 2.5 mm during CP, then the 2 mm of the standard exercise book at the end of CP.

Since 17 October 2026, the 1 cm rulings measure 7 mm, and the menu follows French exercise books, from 4 mm Seyès to 3 mm Seyès double line.

Letters at the right height

On Seyès paper, each letter has its height. The body of a letter fits in one interline, “d” and “t” rise to two, the loops of “b” or “l” to three. The cursive of Lexikit did not respect these proportions. So the model on the lines is written in Belle Allure, a school cursive made for this, and the print in Andika, a free font made for beginning readers.

Since 13 October 2026, the model is written in Lexikit Cursive and Lexikit Script, the fonts of every resource, set to fit these lines.

Printing at 100%

For the measurements to be right, print at 100%, without “Fit to page”. All the lines have the same thickness, and only the colour marks out the writing line, as in an exercise book.
