Vocabulary out loud
Discover the words, sort them into categories, say them again through games, then say them in sentences. 18 resources, one list of words.
The four steps are those of the French nursery school curriculum of 2024: bring new words, structure the lexicon, have them memorised, reuse the vocabulary learnt. The words first come in class, with the picture book, the outing or the objects. Every resource also plays on screen, with “Launch”.
Discover the words
The words come in class, with the picture book, the outing or the objects. The cards show them and have them named.
Organise the words
The words are sorted by category: what we eat, the animals, the clothes.
Sorting cardsCards to cut out and sort into columns, the picture above the word, each one under the card of its category.
Happy FamiliesA Happy Families card game made with your words: one family per category, three to six cards each, the list of the family on every card.
Circle the categoryA grid of pictures of several categories mixed together: the child circles those of one category.
Cross out the odd one outA grid of pictures of a category and an odd one out: the child crosses it out and says why.
Remember the words
The same words come back in games played together, printed or on screen.
Picture bingoFind the drawn pictures on boards with 6 to 12 squares.
Dobble-style gameSpot the picture shared by two cards, as fast as you can, and name it.
Memory gameTurn the cards over and find the pairs of pictures, or of words and pictures.
Goose gameRoll the die, move on and name the picture of the square: an A4 board and a die to fold.
DominoesPlace the same picture side by side, the picture and its word, or the same word in two handwritings.
Kim's gameRemember pictures. With eyes closed, one or two vanish: which ones?
Lynx-style gameDraw a label, quickly touch the picture on the board and name it.
Say the wordA child says the name of the picture into the microphone, the device listens and answers. On the board with the class, or alone. Nothing is sent: the listening happens on the device.
Word sprintName as many words as you can before time runs out: the words of the list wait on the board as silhouettes and show up when a child says them.
Hidden pictureThe picture appears little by little, tile by tile or zooming out: who recognises it?
Picture wheelA wheel of pictures to spin: it picks the word to say, clap or write.
PuzzlesRebuild the picture of each word: 2 to 16 pieces, with a board if you want one.
Use the words again
The words learnt serve to make sentences.
